This is absolutely hilarious.

The statue itself, the phoney Pharoe's response, MJ's career, everything.

But I'm not convinced the whole thing isn't a 1st April spoof. Has anyone actually seen the statue?

I believe West Ham know a good song about Michael Jackson!

I agree Ian - a tour de force, and whoever the sculptor was should definitely get their O-level, grade 3 for a jolly good effort.

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a massive box of Cornflakes tipped out near Fulham FC - the Mikey Jackson 'free gift statue' must have come from one.

(Mind you , the sculptor is probably not feeling tip-top about all this attention either.) At least it's off the wall.

At least there might be a few amusing pictures of things that people have done to/added to/put on/put in front of the statue in the coming months. It's really a rather stupid statue, and even stupider to put it outside a footy ground.

It looks rather like a Madame Tussauds' waxwork than a proper statue - partly because it's not monochrome stone or metal, partly because it doesn't look quite right.
