I finally opted for varifocals in the autumn and was lucky to get on just fine with them from Day 1. They have 3 different prescriptions (reading, vdu and distance) and are so good i never want to take them off.

Not sure i want to wear them on the bike, but i guess they'd fix the problem of reading my garmin.

is your saddle level ?
hard to tell as its a curved saddle , i ride charge spoon and have a spirit level on the tail and the highest point of the nose set as the level as a start point .
From there i would start from the beginning with your fit as pressure on the perenium and chaffing can be a sign of excessive saddle height , i feel pressure there if the saddle is a bit to high and i used to get chaffing until i dropped my saddle 5mm but i would check you saddle angle first .Then look at saddle setback from the bottom bracket as although KOPS is not an exact science it is certeinly a stating point .
Pain in the shoulders is normally associated with excessive reach or drop to the bars and looking at your bar angle i think this is the case as you seem to have them turned up a lot to reach them which can cause other issues.

Thanks yes saddle is level and looks high but I have long legs and a short body I think plus my knees are fine on long rides so must be correct right? Thanks for the info. I'm going to get someone to take a picture of me later on the bike. Just book marked your link. Will study in a bit, thank you.

That makes it look like my saddle is about right

which is good to know

I was so pleased and excited to get my bike (OK OK ebike) - as it was a surprise and a replacement/upgrade from Raleigh

that I just jumped on it and rode off - and not exactly the shortest way home!

I have just never adjusted it and the saddle and saddle height seem to be just right
but I have worried that it is wrong and i have just got used to it
nice to see it was right and that is probably why I have never felt it needed adjusting
