Miles or kilometres?

I prefer metric measurements, mainly because altitudes are shown in meters on maps - so thinking about how many feet I have climbed doesn't make any sense. So, using km is then easier to work out gradients and such.

I'm confused. I weigh 78kg, I'm 5'11" high, the beverage my dog is eyeing up (see left) is in a pint glass, yet at work I measure things in microns. My car does miles per hour but consumes fuel in litres. My bike does kilometres per hour. Said car provides 110ps, which is German for horsepower whilst delivering its torque in newton metres, an S.I. unit.

Yup, that's about it. Though my car does MPG and I've no idea how many gallons I put into it.
