So what do you folks carry as a bare minimum on the bike ? I have a saddle bag with spare tube and allen keys, shifting spanner (small ) and tyre levers. Carry a pump on the bike etc. What does everyone else carry, is it just spare tube and some C02 cannistors ? Or rather than a saddle pack do you stuff all your tools in the jersey pockets

Spare tube, mini-pump, allen keys, phone, glueless patches

puncture repair kit, spare tube, adjustable spanner, tyre levers and some plastic gloves (saves getting your hands dirty) I have a mini pump on the bike.
And I always carry my mobile phone with me.

Spare tube, puncture kit and multi-tool in small saddle bag. Mini pump,Wet proof jacket, iphone, £5 of money and food in jersey

Usually pump, puncture repair kit, allen keys and a screwdriver, but it can vary depending on the journey, sometimes nothing at all, sometimes enough gear to be able to camp out and feed myself if I can't make it home:smile:.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Usual stuff ^^^^^ plus a pair of fine tweezers to remove those awkward thorns, flints, glass shards that you just cannot pull out of the tyre. Also useful to help remove quicklinks. All in a saddlepack, and one of those bottle cage containers if necessary. I never carry anything hard or pointed in a jersey pocket.

Fixed bike: nowhere to put a saddle bag (weird PlanetX ratchet saddle), so Pedros Fixie Tool stays permanently mounted on the seat tube bottle cage bolts, finger tight. In my pocket (rucksack if it's the commute) I have one tube, one pump, one tyre lever.

Road bike: smallish topeak saddle bag with multitool, two tubes, two levers, glue/patches, chain tool and pins. Pump in pocket. Lately on long rides I also carry a spare tyre - a barely used folding Conti Ultra Race - because I'm just about on the wear limit of the current GP4000s.

I don't like saddle bags on a roadie so over winter have been keeping everything in a water bottle and pockets . Now the sun is out I think I may need both cages for water not tools . A saddle bag may be on the cards although I have seen water cages attached to a saddle that looked pretty cool and would de clutter the bike .

@djb1971 Shouldn't the small bottle of meths have just been bundled in with 'lunch'?

Anyway, was going to add a couple of zip ties in my pocket have come in handy on numerous occasions, when cable guides have disappeared or MrsD' s mudguard mounting decided to abandon early. Add them to the tube, multi-tool and patch kit, plus of course a homemade 'get you home' flapjack.
