I just watched this about the alleged bike doping

The part from 3.30 to 4.00 looks very convincing. Cancellara comes up with an incredible turn of speed but his cadence does not seem to increase although I suppose he could have just taken another gear.

Anyway given that bikes are getting lighter and can be made significantly lighter than the 6.8kg minimum this means there is the opportunity to make a light bike and put motors in the seat tube as suggested.

Isn't it about time to reduce the minimum weight and make it harder to do this kind of thing.

Bike doping aside, it's hard not to agree with you. Storck have just released their Fascenario 0.6, which weighs 4.5kg. I'm quite sure it isn't a bendy horror that folds up at the first sight of a corner, so why can't the Tour guys ride one? The old 6.8kg limit is surely out of date now that materials have moved on.
