Mirrors and a sixth sense.......

Tonight coming home on the Gekko (recumbent trike)...

The lights ahead of me are red, and I glanced in the mirror.

I still can't work out why, but I felt that the car behind me was too fast and steered into the filter lane and on to the Cams Hall Estate.

I am so glad that I obeyed my "sixth sense" as I hate to think what would have happened if I had simply stopped at the lights!

Blimey! That was way too close for comfort.
It's funny isn't it that sometimes (just sometimes) you have what you rightly describe as a sixth sense.
I'd love to know if the driver was on the phone though

The spider senses! Saved my neck many times, I'd love to know how that work's though, you look at what's around you, every thing looks normal, everything looks routine, as it always does, but something has the hairs on the back of your neck rising and you know something's not right.

Except that there are very many more than five senses. Something like 23 if my memory of an old episode of QI is correct.

But bloody hell. That could have been very nasty.

I had that happen behind me as I passed through HERE a couple of years ago. 4x4 driver. Scared the bejesus out of me...

..oh and I agree with others - good instincts on your part

Some cars I hear approaching from behind make me more nervous than others for some reason, although my instincts aren't always right, and most drivers give me plenty of room. I've found the slower drivers to be worst, less speed doesn't mean I need less room, if anything its worse.

The driver may have seen you going over the junction and thought all lights were green, particularly if you were heading straight on.

He then realised you were using the left filter and slammed on his brakes.
