Just this morning - after about 30 years - I found out that some morons are mishearing
Inspiral Carpets - Satisfy
as "Saturn 5" !?!

Idiots, who would write a song about a space rocket?!?!

Police song So lonely that sounds like Sue Lawley

So it wasn't a tribute to a well known broadcaster after all!

Unlike the Welsh punk rock group "Trwynau Coch" song "Angela, yn darllen y newyddion" which really is a tribute to "Angela, reading the news"

I always heard it as

'Mancheerons'

So I am glad I am not alone in getting that one wrong :okay:

Regarding The Stranglers, it is not that I misheard it, I just wondered what it was.

Look at that girl over there.
Is she trying to get out of that glitaris?
Liberation for women, that's what I preach.

What is the thing she was trying to get out of?

I also wondered what a charabanc was for a long time.

I just thought that I had misheard it and it actually was 'glitaris'... I searched for the word and found that it is the name of a branded drug!

If you look at the lyrics it's 'clitoris', which makes them more mystifying.

Watching Smokey on an old Top of the Pops last night, the audience were shouting "Alice? Who the xxxx's Alice?", but I couldn't make out exactly what the BBC were allowing them to say.

Regarding The Stranglers
No mistaking the lyrics here, even with the sound turned off.

If that's what I think it is, they would be chanting the F-word. I think some comedian did a version of the song where he encouraged an innovative sing-along.

Try googling it! :P
EDIT: 'ere ya go. I thought Mr Brown was involved:

Yes that's the one. It sounded like they might have been saying frig, but I couldn't quite make it out.
