Misuse of track pump?

Has anyone pumped up their car tyres with their track pump? Am I bonkers to be even considering this? Answers on a postcard to the usual address please.

Try it, it should work ok. No harm done if not - bike tyres and car tyres use the same air, after all..

Works fine, but just takes a bit longer as there's more space to fill.

Mind you, I wouldn't recommend it for one of RT's truck tyres - you'll be there all day ...

It gives your arms and shoulders a good workout because it doesn't deliver the volume of a foot pump.

If you do it too often you'll find that the bore of the pump will wear and get oversized which will mean buying a new one again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last year I lent my mini morph to a guy to pump up a motorbike tyre. It took a while so we took itin turns.
We'd both stopped at a petrol station to use the compressed air but the machine was out of order.

Yes. Far more efficient (and stable) than a wobbly foot pump.

Yep, we used it to put air into our spare tire after the real one became flat after we hit a huge pot hole in Oxford.

I bought a kid's mini rugger ball for my grandson. I glanced at the label and it said "Inflate to 5............"

Mmmm, 5 bar, get the track pump. Find football adapter. Pump, pump, pum.................... BANG!!!!!!. Ears ringing eyes watering. "WTF!!!"

Look at remains of label, ....... "Inflate to 5psi"

I got a cheap (I think it was about £15) dual-barrel pump from Halfrauds about 3 years ago and it is remarkably quick when doing the cars and bikes. I tried the track pump, just to see if it would work, and it does but it's definitely not as fast nor as easy. IMO.
