I'm tempted to get a new mobile phone that can take photos. How do you get them from the phone to your computer etc? If it is a complicated procedure, then I'll save the money and stick with the old phone.

(Please folks, don't shop me to FM over this mindless desire for consumer goodies. ;))

Stick with your old phone and buy a good quality dedicated camera. ;)

Usually with a USB lead.
Hook phone to lead to USB on your PC, and the phone appears as an extra drive. Much like your current digital camera, I expect.

Like just that way!^^^

You might want to check when you buy it. Some you can get a lead and USB cable, some you have to take the memory card out and read it in a reader, and some you can download by Bluetooth, or you have to email the image to yourself from the phone...

Mine uses a mini USB adapter at the phone end, once I plug it in it pops up as a drive in My Computer, it takes a Micro SD card, I have a 2GB one. I can transfer any kind of file on there and also play most types of video file and view most types of text file or image file.

Other options are to transfer via bluetooth, MM SMS message, Email. You can email directly to Photobucket from the phone and then link to it via the normal image tags.

I find the easiest way is to save the pics to a removable memory card (assuming your fancy new phone-to-be has one), take the card out and transfer the pics to your computer using a card reader summat like this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kingston-15...?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1201018104&sr=1-22

Plugs straight into a USB port, and saves all the faffing about with proprietary software/specialised cables for your phone. Will probably do the same for your digital camera.

In that case, stick with your old mobile, if it's still working.

I need the kind of swish mobile that looks good in front of fellow lawyers when you're shouting, "I don't care if he's a cabinet minister. If that contract isn't signed today, he'll be selling the Big Issue before the year's out." This doesn't work if you're trying to hold some brick of a thing to your ear. ;)

Patrick, if it is any help, I have been a 'natural' Nokia user (best 'phone ever the 6310). The latest I had was a 6280 with appaling battery life...
This time, I decided that the best thing was for me to get a camera that makes the occasional phone call.
Cue the Sony Ericsson k850i.
I claim to be 'phone not very literate' but this baby has a 5 megapixel camera and gives excellent results in everyday use. A slightly different way of texting but there is plenty of intuitive learning to 'get up to speed'. I almost don't miss the navigation of Nokia now. At times, I still carry a separate camera or two...;)
Thoroughly satisfied - so far. The only thing is the ring tones need a bit of tweaking - by PC probably.
As for exchanging information with the PC - it's a doddle and the USB cable is supplied / bluetooth capable etc etc The phone even has an MP3 player for the complete set of Mantovani...and more!
Try one is my advice.

It also has a very trendy touch screen - fantastic babe magnet!

Better still, e-mail the photo's to your work e-mail address from the phone. That's what I do with my (accident) photo's. Mind you, Patrick, you might want to stick with the digital camera when you're out dogging as the quality is better.;)
