For me it’s the hydros. Although I have Ultegra rim brakes on my Giant Propel and there’s nothing wrong with them. Equally I do have mechanical disc brakes on Boardman Adv but I must admit that once you get used to the modulation of hydraulic brakes nothing feels better in comparison.
