Actually I spent some of my early years in Singapore (so I do know what monsoons are really like) luckily Britain doesn't suffer from extremes.zimzum42 said:If you want real monsoons, come out to the far east

um, but i've cycled through all of the wet days throughout this summer, but its the combination of the wind and rain that's bothering me, however, I am looking at getting rid of my car if I can get through this winter, my plan is to see how many days I needed thje car before deciding whether to get rid of it or not. My car is the 2nd car, so would be a great saving on tax, MOT, insurance if could get rid.User1314 said:Only didn't commute in once this year because of the weather and regretted that as soon as I found myself on the glum, dreary, miserable bus/train combo commute.
The high winds weren't so bad after all anyway, that day.
Having said that I did get my bike out of the shed even that morning and sat on it. I only returned it to the shed when a gust of wind nearly blew me backwards.
