Just as well. The (70%) moon set before 1am this morning (Helston, Cornwall). I think this site gives the best ephemeral info.

It made enough light to see in, and at 70%, I hope it's clear tomorrow 31st and Saturday 4th..

My commute started at 0315hrs this morning. Does that count?

Was it still up at 3.15 ? being at the opposite end of the island it must have set at a different time.....it set here about 1.00....it counts

Yes. But my point was that this morning it set in Edinburgh at ..... 12.35 am. It was very much over California by 3.15am.

1. probably California.
2. Cornwall is west of Edinburgh. Moon sets later in Cornwall than Edinburgh.

Thanks for clarifying, I was being a bit slow in checking both times, so it must have been dark then, as your original post said 'does that count?' I guess not

Yes! Yesterday I dragged myself out of my warm bed at 4:15am and into the rain at 5.30am. 16 hours and 21 minutes later and I had ridden through the day, into the moonlit lanes of Essex, and home. Delighted.

I went out for a nice, moonlit, 11.5 miles with my ride-buddy last night. I wasn't going to ride as I have a bit of an ache but he wanted to go so we did.
It was lovely but I ache a bit more now. Probably not a good idea really.

Fantastic moonlight last night, very quiet lanes, would have been perfect except for the howling south westerly.
