It’s (yet another) example of the entire world becoming ‘forum’. Everybody getting professionally offended on everyone else’s behalf. It’s easy to deal with on an Internet forum, you just ignore the poor little darling(s). It’s more difficult to do so in the real world. The whole ‘Kevin and Harvey show’ thing that’s been rumbling on for a while, is a good example. If the complainants has been that bothered about the blokes’ conduct, why not kick off about it way back when the alleged incidents occurred? Oh, I know, because they were complicit, and were not making a big deal out of it, because they were using the situation to get something / somewhere, and now that they have got it / there, or not, and suddenly it’s a big deal. I’m not condoning the behaviour, but really? As soon as the professionally offended sheep, bugger off and find something else to get their frillies in a bunch about, I wouldn’t rate the chances of some of the offendee’s chances of finding gainful employment in the mainstream entertainment industry too highly.

Do you think the same of Saville's victims? Because its the very same mechanics in action (i.e. the massive imbalance in power) which lead to victims of such scumbags feeling unable to do anything about it.

No politics in the café, please.

Saville was a whole different level. He was an active predator, and a total paedo.

Marr settled years ago. He's still friends.

I listened to a Adam Buxton podcast interviewing Marr and even though he settled he has no issues with denying the other 2 had any artistic input into the music. Sadly the singer and/or lead guitarist often claim is was all them thus the all the money is theirs too. It's much easier making music with twats you don't trust or like then you get all that sorted out at the beginning

Personally I think the fact that neither Marr's nor Morrissey's solo careers came even close to touching on the magic of the original bands is a strong indication that Joyce&Rourke were more than mere session musicians and as is often the case the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

I was in the crush singing along and this fella infront turned around and said along the lines of;
"If you carry on I'm going to farking kill you"
He had a point, I feel the same about people who sing along at shows, I paid to listen to the band, not them. If you want to sing along go buy the record and do it at home or in the car!

Undeniably a devisive figure at the best of times, Morrissey was a bit of a hero of mine. As a sullen youth I adored the Smiths and Morrissey in his solo career churned out some crackers too although he's gone a bit shoot recently. I have such happy memories of being thoroughly miserable moaning along with Morrissey.
And then he comes out with this victim blaming nonsense;

Obviously he has a new album and single to promote, but he can surely do better than to spout bollocks like the victims of rape are disappointed.

Just what Space & Weinstein need! If they’re lives aren’t messed up enough they’ve got that daffodil speaking up for them. Talk about kicking someone when they’re down.
