As I've said elsewhere, Freeman makes his living by exploiting weaknesses in legislation to stop dangerous drivers from being removed from the roads.
In this regard he has as much authority on matters of road safety as a burning bag of doggy droplings.
I grow extremely weary of the media giving people like him the oxygen of publicity without any meaningful pushback.
Bangham out of order! Proposals will make roads more dangerous. Need bit of tolerance to overtake safely . Drivers will also be too distracted by mobile phones to be aware of other dangers. How is Chief Constable fit for office? #RoadSafety
Nick Freeman is defending David Beckham against a speeding charge (59 mph in a 40 zone), on the basis that the notice of prosecution arrived a day late.
He's not disputing the fact that the offence was committed.
"His lawyer Nick Freeman told Wimbledon Magistrates' Court there was "no issue" with the speed alleged but said the notice had arrived one day too late.
Mr Freeman, commonly known as Mr Loophole, told the case management hearing the notice of intended prosecution was "defective" because it arrived one day outside the statutory 14 days.
The trial is due to take place on 27 September at Wimbledon Magistrates Court."
What a public-spirited chap he is! Can a knighthood be far away?
In Tunbridge Wells I see motorists jump red lights almost daily, as for roundabouts they’re a lottery some people just stare straight ahead and don’t look.
I was at a cross roads and opposite me was a car in the center of her lane, no indication, it was safe and I went to cross straight over and she turned right, that was a barrel of lolz, ofc it was my fault and a tirade ensued from her.
Since I returned to cycling in 2015, I can only recall seeing two cyclists jumping a red light, whereas I see cars do it nearly every day. Usually rushing through lights just after they’ve changed to red. However, the general public appear to be convinced that all cyclists jump red lights. So much so it has become almost like a religious doctrine that cannot be changed or questioned. I recall reading that three police forces (possibly, Thames Valley, Cambridge and the Met but not sure) independently found that motorists were much more likely to jump red lights than cyclists but the view of Joe Public doesn’t seem to shift from supporting the dominant culture that is car driver.
