What's an MOT?

I don't think I've needed an mot since the turn of the century but have been horrified by the ever increasing cost of the annual bike service at this time of year after dealing with the worst of a Scottish winter.

£500 this year (10 year old Honda) because our properly awful local roads had resulted in not one, not two but three knackered shocks. They were the original 120,000 mile old ones mind you. I expect the fourth won’t last past the next service.

Previous history shows it’s only previously failed on bulbs, worn wipers and once on a tyre.

Mine failed on a couple of tyres last year, duly replaced (@ 22000 miles & 6 years, at least one was an original)...oh and a number plate bulb

Previous year - a windscreen wiper needed replacing
