MOT Reminder

Whilst a lot of the franchise dealership's have computer systems for sending out MOT reminders a lot of smaller garages don't.

So just for info I discovered the other night when renewing my Car Tax that you can set an MOT Reminder on the DVLA site.

May be useful to some that don't know of this service.

I've got a free App called Vehicle Smart. It also sends you MOT reminders. It is also most useful for checking vehicle MOT and tax history.

I use this think called my memory. Never let me down yet.

Thr RAC app, if you're a customer, allows you to set remindeds for car tax, MOT, insurance, etc, but I use my memory for those as well,

Most of us don't have an infallible memory.

My car being new, I don't have to worry about that till 2025.

If you put the car details into the Halfords website (IIRC you need to say when MOT is due), Halfords then give you advance warning when the time comes around. We now get reminded of MOT from Wife's diary, Halfords, and the local garage where we take it for MOT

I never forgot the MoT, but I forgot the tax a couple of times. I took my test in my father's car with no tax too, and the examiner didn't notice either.

I never worry about it as in 38 years of driving I've never hadnone fail.

Got my MOT reminder set up on the DVLA but the franchise garage phoned up before it was even activated. I was moving though and took it to a local dealer the week after I used it for moving.
