I recently purchased a P7 torch off Ianrauk (Thanks Ian, oh and congrats on the arrival of the baby), as I wanted an additional permanent light for my commute, thinking that I would be more visible to people and therefore make my daily commute in and out of London slightly less treacherous. Oh how wrong I was.
The bright light now seems to attract a variety of moths……
Common Name: Car Moth
Latin Name: Imustus-getinfrountus-ofthecylist-atallcostus
Also known as: Goldfish Moth
This moth is known for seeing the light and having to perform what are sometimes breathtaking manoeuvres to get in front of the light only to have to abruptly stop their flight seconds later due to a large mass of other Car Moths. These moth's are in someway genetically similar to goldfish, as they seem to repeatedly perform the same manoeuvre and not realise that they are not making any progress, as I glide past them for the 3rd or 4th time

Latin Name: Letus-seeushowslowlyus-icanwalkus
Also known as: Lemming Moth
This moth has a very small brain and is unable to comprehend what the bright light is. It sees the light, but in someway, it doesn’t see the light. It is unaware of the dangers it faces if hit by a moving object travelling at 15mph
Common Name: Bus Moth
Latin Name: Iamnotus-lettingthatus-buggergetinfront-ofme-us
Also known as Big Red Moth
This moth acts in a different way to other moths, it is initially attracted to the light, but once the light gets close normally alongside the Big Red Moth, it decides to flee and then have a duel with the moving light as a battle for supremacy for the flight path ensues.
Common Name: Van Moth
Latin Name: I-ownus-theroadus
Also known as: WVM Moth
This moth seems to be initially more attracted by the red lights, it is an inquisitive moth and will pass as close by the light as it possibly can. Once past, if the moth is unable to continue it's flight for whatever reason, it then sees the white light and feels it must stop this white light from moving and passing by and therefore likes to position itself in such a way to make the passing as difficult as possible
PS. Ian, I now know why you sold me the light, it's a bloody menace
