Motor problem

hi i have just bought a seago power electric folding bike it all lights up but as soon as i connect the nine pin plug from the motor to the connector that goes to the controller it shuts
all power off can anybody tell me why it is doing it and how to test the motor to see if its that is causing the problem many thanks in advance all lights on in pics are when the motor is disconnected

I'm not saying that this is the cause, but a couple of those connections are not properly insulated and could possible short out if they contacted something critical...

I’ve taped the green phase wire will put some on the other and try that as dont know how to take it out of that connector to look at it but it’s this connector that shorts as soon as I connect them together and the motor makes like a thud noise when they are connected

Any help would be greatly appreciated or if anyone knows someone who knows about electric bikes near Halifax West Yorkshire who could check it out and point me in the right direction as to what it could be would be a great help too
