Ogri went for 35 years in Boke (SIC) magazine and it was Paul Sample's cover art that got me into Tom Sharpe's books. Fred Gassit was OK as an antipodean cartoon strip but nothing like the continuity of Ogri.
The original idea came to Paul when blatting up the motorway at 90mph on a Rocket Gold Star and wondering what the rattle was and early strips featured him on a BSA parallel twin but he soon graduated to a Norvin (Vincent engine in a 'Featherbed' frame
