I'm afraid I have to disagree a bit with you there Matthew. Perhaps my view of PTW's is a little skewed by the fact that on my commute to work, I use one ASL in the mornings in York Road, Bristol, and another ASL (the one in my video clip) on my way home. Both are near to large motorbike dealers which Bristol cyclists will know (the one across from the main station). So I guess that's why they barge into the ASL a lot on my commute. And some can get quite aggressive about it too. I have known 2-3 of them to filter 200 yards along the line of cars and try to squeeze into the ASL next to me, often expecting you to move over. But as I'm going straight on, I can't use the left hand side of the ASL as its a left turn lane. So the ASL is reduced to 50% capacity and I'm faced with two or even three large PTW's with panniers competing for space. Bottom line is that I can legally be there on red, they can't.
For me, it's not a question of them leaving enough room for me, it's the fact that they shouldn't be there to begin with and I suspect a lot of them know that but choose to ignore the rule, which puts cyclists at risk. It also encourages other PTW's to do the same, which isn't what cycling needs.
I speak from experience of being cut up by the biker last year, of having a group of teen scooter riders appear all around me (on left and right) etc. But what I dislike the most is when they pull up to you, give you a dirty look as they go past (just what do they expect to find in the cyclist safety zone?. Godzilla on a skateboard?) and place themselves over the second line (traffic offence) on red. Then they rev their engines continually, which is pretty pointless and a waste of fuel. But since many motorbikes have exhausts that are angled upwards, I think they do it to spray fumes at you for being in 'their' territory. I find those wannabe boy racers on their 'Ninja' bikes especially annoying for doing this (I'd love to get my own back by farting into their crash helmets

).
I don't generally have a problem with vans and cars rolling a bit over the line as they need to stop safely. But a filtering PTW has light-years to stop and no excuse.
But I do the same thing as you Matthew for drivers who decide to nip down the 24 hour bus lanes - ride very slowly to get the message across
