In their current role, get out of the way, they have drivers getting penalties for not being able to whilst staying safe.
Anyone coming up on a slower car would have to overtake, as they did before. Not expect the car in front to simply move out of the way. It'd be the same position as a current pitstop, which drops the driver into slower traffic, but who are in front of them on the track. Faster car comes out in fifth place having pitted from first. The only way past is to overtake.

but on some tracks - Monaco being the worst - it is not possible to pass another driver on certain points of the track unless the other driver co-operates thus slowing himself down
hence you would get a situation where a second driver - or driver on a "second team" could hold up the driver of one of the leading cars while their team mate increases their lead

which is what they are trying to avoid

I thought Rush was quite good.

Rush is eminently watchable, much like any Ron Howard film.

Although to stick all of that story into a standard feature length film, a certain amount of creative licence has to be employed. Apparently though, the Hunt family wasn't really consulted in the making of the film, and David says it's not the best portrayal of his brother.

Having said that, it's on a completely different planet to the fictionalized series on Senna. That was just pure and utter garbage, and little of it bore any resemblance to actual events. And it conveniently ignored the realities of the man to boot - namely the fact that he was a self-centred, manipulative and arrogant bar steward of dubious sexuality, who didn't care who he stepped on to get what he wanted. Including his own wife...

Hold the Monaco GP at Silverstone. Problem solved.

Even better, what about using one of the Spedeworth stadiums with the appropriate set-up (Yarmouth, Northampton or Hednesford) and run it as a figure of 8 race...

You'd have to give them either Ministox or Ninja Karts in that case, as I don't think F1 cars have a big enough turning circle. Unless thirty-point turns are part of the event!

There's the solution. Two car designs. One for regular circuits and one much smaller design for street circuits. Problem solved.
