Rosberg spotted immediately that Norris was overdriving the car on his final qualifying lap , missing neat apexes etc , his confidence dented and doubts beginning to creep in. If Piastri wins again today Norris will have a lot more sleepless nights .

Interesting reporting here:
Hamilton, who starts fifth in Barcelona, said his target was to "try and get to the podium. I haven't been on a podium for a long time".
His last podium was in Las Vegas last November, when he was driving for Mercedes.
I take it his sprint win on 22 March 2025 doesn't count as a podium then?

Just finished watching todays GP

I think Max might be in a bad mood

Whilst I don’t condone what appeared to be a deliberate act of revenge, I have sympathy that he had been hard done by up until that point. The touch with Charles was nothing but George did the dirty on him at T1 but Max was being asked to yield. No excuse for retaliation but clearly a factor.

An adult would have waited for the stewards to sort it out though rather than Max's approach of throwing all his toys out of the pram and ruining his own race just cos "it isn't fair". I agree with Rosberg that he was lucky to get away with a 10 second penalty for what appeared to be a deliberate and dangerous act of violence.

Was it Baku some years ago when Vettel had a similar rush of blood and drove into Lewis?

I think that might be the moment that put him out of contention for the championship.

In fact, thinking about it a bit more, I reckon Max knew that letting Wuthell through was a pivotal moment for his drivers championship and that's why he did it.

A great talent, but a petulant twit when it suits him.

And Norris is wasting no time giving the media his opinion. You'd think in his position he'd spend every iota of attention and effort on his biggest problem, and not divert precious mental resources on matters that don't affect him.

It might affect him - next time.

It might, but it hasn't yet so why waste the mental bandwidth when his biggest problem is now 10 points ahead of him?

He should be emulating Piastri, and not doing what Hamilton did when things started to slide. Copying the habits of losers (as Ramilton was by then) isnt a tactic for success. Russell is also a big one for this and he's never had, or will, a sniff of the championship. Attention forward!

When working towards a goal one should adopt the habits of the successful.

When Max appeared to to the TV interview my wife and I both said
He's had a bollocking!!!

to be fair - when whatsisname on Sky did the review in slow mo I can see why Max felt a bit annoyed about the penalty

but the retaliation is totally unacceptable

causing a collision by driving aggressively and expected the other driver to back off is one thing

but driving into another car deliberately with no race reason should attract a serious penalty

and he can;t moan much - he has got away with too much in the past

Hamilton looked embarrassed in post race interview , Leclerc is mopping the floor with him fairly constantly now and he looks as disillusioned as ever I've seen him . Hulk put in superb drive , hats off to him . He never , in all his years got a seat in a front running car. I would love to see him get at least one podium before he retires to the fadderland , but its unlikely now sadly

Russell is a c**k, although to my eye on this occasion Max did look like he'd snapped and did it deliberately. I think that might be the moment that put him out of contention for the championship.

this is what we need to stir it up a bit , throw a few punches etc like a schnaps fuelled Senna goaded by Berger to attack Irvine . Verstappen senior must be chewing his own gonads in fury after watching this episode !
