I could see why you would comment on the no helmet ( which he isnt required to wear) but why comment on hi viz????
Because every thread criticising cyclists has someone getting on their high horse that thy had seen someone not wearing Hi Viz.

He probably wanted to take his road bike then realised even the motorways aren't smooth so opted for larger tires. He even managed to get into the middle lane.

You weren't just asking a question though, you loaded it by presupposing that questioning one thing was understandable but not the other.

... and there was me thinking that "why" and the question marks was traditionally the method of presenting a question

I feel nothing but sadness for that bloke, I can't even imagine how horrific it would be to find yourself on a motorway on a bike, we must have all been too close passed at 60/70mph on a national speed road at some point, it's scary a motorway must be terrifying.

I can understand it totally.

I commute to Cosham on a daily basis, and there is a junction at Cosham (by the Marriott and Wiggle) where if you are in the wrong land then you are on the M27 / M275 with no escape route

It is not that well signposted either, and fig vehicles are queued at the lights the on road markings are obscured

There's just one nasty little thought that keeps arising in my mind..... somebody reported somewhere that the cyclist was seen to be in tears. Now my neighbour, who is a PC, tells me that people from Eastern Europe especially Ukranians and Lithuanians have the reputation of being prone to serious alcohol abuse and even suicide in fits of lonely depression. My own sister who died with MS had a miserable life and used to drive her mobility scooter along a very narrow dangerous road and I always had a suspicion that she was half hoping a car would hit her. I just hope the poor fellow hadn't ridden deliberately onto the motorway with the same desperate intention.

I've seen a cyclist on the hard shoulder of M25 before, near Heathrow. Given that she had a Swedish flag on her luggage, I'm guessing she was a lost tourist. I phoned the rozzers to let them get her to safety.

Another time I met a cyclist on the A23 with a puncture, heading for Gatwick. He too was a FOREIGNER from ABROAD, and had been on the M23. The nice policemen helped him drag his bike up the embankment to an over bridge and safety.

Well maybe its time people on this forum started to respect other peoples choices and decisions. Unless it breaks the law..........time for another forum sobatical me thinks
It was a joke, mocking the sort of things certain individuals might say such as:
"You don't play road tax"
"You're not even wearing a helmet"
"Where's your high vis"
or "You were weaving all over the place"
