Mounting a Carradice Barley Saddlebag on a seat without saddle loops

On a whim I've bought a Carradice Barley saddlebag, as it looked so nice, to go on my Thorn Club Tour. However my saddle does not have loops at the back, but I do have a rack fitted. I was thinking of buying a Thorn Saddlebag bracket to mount it, would this be the best solution?

Why not use some adaptors that fit on the rails, I have a set and will put some pictures up tomorrow @Aston

Carradice bagman gives a quick release solution

Or they do bog standard loops to attach to your saddle rails

A rack also is handy to provide a bit of support, and to correct the angle of the dangle.

Yes for sale they have been fitted and used loads of times so not new by any means but should be serviceable .

I love my Bagman, and will be using it again on tour this summer with a massive Carradice saddlebag, instead of panniers and rack.

Or a Spa saddle (also with loops). Mine is very comfortable now after only 5 years breaking it in.

This. I have this system and it's excellent. Buy a saddle that works with this is my advice.

The quick-release works very well. If you want to take the bag with you when you're off the bike, straps can be a faff.

Mine did fail at one point but Carradice were very good and sent some new parts out straight away.
