hi - hoping to get some advice...

I'm loving getting out on the bike this year and have done more miles already than I did in the last quarter of 2015.

I have a number of events lined up for this year and looking for some club rides as well.

I'm starting to wonder if I should look to upgrade my current bike or buy a new one, some info below.

Current bike:
2015 giant defy 2
Upgraded campagnolo zoned wheels:

Schwable tyres
"Comfortable" saddle (jury is out!)

The upgraded wheels and tyres have transformed the bike and I love it, it's a joy to ride and is comfortable for 60 miles.

Now, i may have around £1500 budget for a new bike in the next month or so but the more I read and the more I think about it am I really going to get anything that's noticeable better? I'm starting to wonder if I looked into an upgraded group set and with the frame and wheel and tyre combo I'll still have some spare money left over for some gadgets but actually have at the end an even better bike.

This is all new to me so go easy, hoping to pry into your greater knowledge...

Thanks in advance
Dan

Upgrade because you want to, not because that budget is going to make you noticeably quicker.

Upgrade. A new bike won't make you any quicker. As suggested by @vickster you could fit a better group set etc which essentially is all your paying for on another bike. Your bike fits you, comfortable and by your own admission your loving riding this year

You already have a nice bike - stick with it and just carry on enjoying your riding.

Good choice. My bikes under £500 but I told myself and wife that I had to regularly put the miles in before I can justify an upgrade or better bike. To be fair I would like to move up to a condor pista single speed and spec it myself but that's for another day. Which ever way you finally go, enjoy it and post plenty of pics :okay:
