That's what i'm thinking of doing. I've had a look at some flats over that way, thinking about moving there. I've thought about it in the past but assumed that the rent over there would be much higher than here, but it isn't. In fact some places are cheaper than here. According to what i've been told there are more flats than takers, so they have to lower the rent costs to attract people. I don't know why, as St Annes is a very nice place. I know that nearby Blackpool has a bit of a reputation for having 'rough DSS' areas, but not St Annes.
Anyway, like anywhere it has its good and bad points. The main bad point to me is that it's as flat as a pancake, meaning cycling over there isn't much fun. I'd certainly miss the hills of east Lancashire! Then there's the thought of being 30 odd miles away from my football club. Though i know of a few who come over to Accrington matches from the Blackpool/St Annes area,so maybe we could car share. I know it wouldn't be such a big deal to someone who's used to moving around because of jobs and family etc,but it would be a big thing to me who's lived here all my life. If i move it won't be until say around October/November so i'm not rushing into this. I'm also asking folk i know about it and so far i've got a favorable response with most saying they'd 'love to live near the seaside'. My concerns about it being 'crap for cycling' aren't met with much understanding as i don't know or socialise with that many cyclists.
So what do you lot think and would you go?
