My 20 yr old son has asked me to go look at a new MTB (he bought an old one from me last year) on cyclescheme.
He is plumping for an MTB for use mainly on a 3-mile each-way commute by road, and the odd ride out on trails/tracks rather than real mountain-bike trails.
Personally, due to my own regerets in not doing so
, advising him to seriously think of a cyclocross due to it's flexibility and ability to switch to road use with different tyres.
He has an old Dawes Watoga, is looking at a Giant Revel LTD 0, and I am advising looking at a Revolution Cross Sport 13 and he'd still have the Dawes for the rare mountain trail he'd ever really want to do
