Hello All.
Years ago I had 70's and 80's racers, no problem at all with mudguards, same on my hybrid.
I've recently got a modern road bike though. It did state in the blarb that it was suitable for mudguards and it has the eyes for them to be mounted.
The bike came with 23c tyres which I've swapped out for 25c tyres. Things now look a bit tight for clearance though. Pics (blurry) below show the pinch points on the rear but are;
About 5mm between the front derailleur bracket and the tyre
About 10mm under the brakes
And any issues where the guard secures by the bottom bracket? Again quite tight but not measured.
The questions are;
1, Will a set of guards fit?
2, Will I have to go back down to 23c tyres?
3, Any recommendations on a set of guards if they will fit? I'm not keen on the clip on type.
Many thanks.
