They arent the easiest things to fit - Im half way thru getting the front ones on - They are rubbing so need to hacksaw the stays abit shorter on one side! Hopefully have them sorted soon! Im thinking should of just bent them rather than following the instructions and shortening the stays!!!

Once you've done you won't regret it, they look much much tidier.

I hope so - spent half the afternoon in the garage yesterday - And havent even finished the front one yet - The spacer was a good call so the stays dont have to bend - however it does stick out a long way - will post pics once I have got fitted ( If I ever finish....)

If you feel it sticks out too far you could always trim it down until your happy.

Oh dear, I use a pair of pliers to cut the stays but I've got gorilla hands. Gutter - I hope you have better luck next time.

LBS for mudguards every time, well worth any fitting fee that may be charged IMO, let them make a boo-boo of it!

Well I got mudguards fitted for my Boardman Hybrid today - gave in and got my LBS to do it - looks like they did a really good job
going to give in and get them to do my CDF tomorrow

My tip for mudguard stays is to file them halfway through and then snap them off. Hacksaw blade just seems to skitter all over the stay, filing was so much quicker.

Having said that, I put Raceblade XLs on my (2013) croix de fer so that I can remove them without needing tools/losing bits, if I want to take it somewhere proper muddy. 32mm tyres, the clearance is just about adequate.
