many people look at their needs and make a small tool roll with the idea of get me home and it may not cost too much .Look through your home tool box ,I bet you could assemble such and fit it in a glasses case as I do

I had to make a compromise between range of tools and budget so I use this:

It covers most things but I tend to carry a couple of other items as well: until I get my backside into gear to build a new front wheel with a QR I have to carry a 15mm spanner....

I did that for a while. I only stopped because I kept forgetting things when I packed the tool roll...

I’ve several different types on different bikes for example I have one of these.

I still have one of them.The only problem I had was when I had it in my back pocket.I stalled going up hill couldn’t get my feet out my toe clips ,toppled over and landed on the spanner.Ouch.
