It's the CA kicker that gets me....... On its own it smells OK, but the fumes from the reaction with the CA are horrible. I prefer Titebond wherever I can. Slower, but less aggressive.

Preparing myself mentally for making some puddings, this may take some time.

As in Christmas puddings? My mum helped me last year and this year will be my first solo attempt! But I may as well save it for a wet day!

Christmas cake is done and maturing nicely.
Mind you I did actually make it last year and never ate it

I've never made Christmas puddings, but this morning I bought the ingredients and this afternoon I'm soaking the fruit for the Christmas cake,which will be cooked tomorrow. It's Mary Berry's recipe. An important half term activity.

Some things are worth doing early ie they'll taste even better. Most stuff can be left until it is actually the correct season.

@potsy and I have a similar approach to this. Ignore everything to do with C and then perhaps buy a couple of presents at 5pm on 24 Dec.

Well, you two won't be interested in a home made cake then. All the more for everyone else.
