We had a bit of a car crash on the M3 on the way back from my mum's.

Driver two cars in front slammed on his brakes and the car in front of me went into the back of him. I braked and I'm not sure whether I actually hit her or she bounced back and hit me. Damage to her car's rear was minimal - although the damage to the front of her car was heavier - and the first car's rear was very mashed.

My car has minor scratches and a crack in the trim - the worst part was the Pedestrian Protection System (which is a bonnet pop up system which is designed to provide additional protection to pedestrians who might be hit) was deployed. The 'bang' of the explosive bolts going off was louder than the noise of the two cars making contact.

It meant I had to drive a 100 miles home with a hood that is raised. The car is designed to be driven like that. But it has to go to a main dealer to have the system reset and that costs something around £1k.

I'm going to have to speak to the insurers in the morning (their claims team doesn't work on Sundays)....
Not really a 'like' but :hugs:

This afternoon, the second half of my ride had a lovely pub stop. A nice half of Wainwright with a delicious beef sandwich and particularly good chips (which I wasn't expecting, should have read the small print). I think I've used more calories than I've consumed but it could be close, especially as I've had cheese, yoghurt and cake since getting back!

From my recollection, the Dutch celebrate Santa Claus' arrival on 6th December, not Christmas.
Feast day of Saint Nicholas,
although Eastern Orthodox has it on the 19th.

No. A young child in the first car banged her head and the paramedics checked her over - but no real injuries.

We were all breathalysed. Both the driver of the second car and I were clear... not sure about the driver of the first car. He had been put in the back of a police car for some reason and hadn't got/been let out before the second driver and I left.
Only just seen this, hope you are all okay.
