He has a point. But the journey is so much more important than the destination.I did suggest he comes and helps with the cycle training, marshalling, etc. but he thinks "cyclists are stupid for riding to places they didn't need to go to just to drink coffee and eat cake!" so it probably isn't a good idea.
Take him and let him have none, it's daft, and see if he changes his mind.Just dropped my 16yo off at the Oxfam sorting centre for a volunteering appointment. No helicopter parenting - he's got to look after himself.
He's just finished his GCSE's and I'm keen for him to get a range of experience so we've asked him to consider a day a week volunteering. Despite mutterings he's agreed, which given he's got Asperger's I'm pleased with.

Well enough, but also a lot of unpredictable experiences and new experiences happen, and that may be out of his comfort zone. I think you're doing a good thing, getting him out and volunteering, and who knows, he may just get comfortable and receptive to cycling as well. I'm just hoping you lot haven't put the mockers on the weather. I really need a ride.
Despite leaving so late, I'm here first and have beer
You might not. I'm running a bit later than planned![]()
Echocardiogram and more bloods today. She didn't look alarmed or pat my hand sympathetically so I'm hoping for a good report when it comes.
The knocker on that is still no diagnosis beyond 'one of those things' for my collapse. Should see me resume proper in the traffic cycling tho if it is just down to shoot happens.
Thank you, I do feel half a stone lighter this afternoon, each big thing its not, or doesn't seem to be pointed to, helps me back to normal.hope you get good news as that must be a real worry
