Here for rides.
I did suggest he comes and helps with the cycle training, marshalling, etc. but he thinks "cyclists are stupid for riding to places they didn't need to go to just to drink coffee and eat cake!" so it probably isn't a good idea.
He has a point. But the journey is so much more important than the destination.

Just dropped my 16yo off at the Oxfam sorting centre for a volunteering appointment. No helicopter parenting - he's got to look after himself.

He's just finished his GCSE's and I'm keen for him to get a range of experience so we've asked him to consider a day a week volunteering. Despite mutterings he's agreed, which given he's got Asperger's I'm pleased with.

Take him and let him have none, it's daft, and see if he changes his mind.

Well enough, but also a lot of unpredictable experiences and new experiences happen, and that may be out of his comfort zone. I think you're doing a good thing, getting him out and volunteering, and who knows, he may just get comfortable and receptive to cycling as well. I hope he has a great time volunteering at Oxfam.

The blue skies have retreated, just in time for an afternoon in front of the TV.

Managed a walk this morning. Feeling pleased with myself and extremely relieved.

Wasted the morning in hospital. My son is overdue his immunisations, but being a Type 1 diabetic, he's developed a really strong phobia of other people injecting him. Couldn't get him to have his immunisations.

Replacement chainring bolts arrived, but the cause of the bolt falling out is a stripped thread on the new chainring (new bike). I've ordered a replacement ring !

You might not. I'm running a bit later than planned
Despite leaving so late, I'm here first and have beer

Echocardiogram and more bloods today. She didn't look alarmed or pat my hand sympathetically so I'm hoping for a good report when it comes.

The knocker on that is still no diagnosis beyond 'one of those things' for my collapse. Should see me resume proper in the traffic cycling tho if it is just down to shoot happens.

hope you get good news as that must be a real worry
