Oh, tell me about it... In this case, it're the Senna fanboys. Although the Villeneuve ones are almost as bad.

I'm surprised @Jenkins hasn't had a whirl at my Brownie Points question. Him being a Sportscar afficionado, I'd have thought he'd have twigged that one pretty easily...

I've never got the fanboy thing either, but then I've never followed a single driver or team as it's all about the racing for me. As long as it's good, I don't care who or which team wins.

As for your quiz thing, that's probably before I got into GT/sportscar racing in the early 90s thanks to the McLaren F1, Ferrari F40, etc. However I'd guess you're referencing the 2nd most famous Belgian (or 3rd most famous if you include Plastic Bertrand ^_^)

well that was wild morning! glad I wasn't working from home!

I went out this morning for a ride with my friends. On the way to my friend's house I passed a sign which said Free/scrap, it was on 2 children's bikes parked against a lamp post. I walked back from my friend's house and picked one up. A Pendleton Hanberry. I'll see if our grandchild will like it .
The weather remained grey but the sun did come out once . I did 16 miles.

that's how I kept pace w/ my kids growing every year & needing a new bike almost every year

A nice warmish day all round 3 loads of washing done and dried. Came home from town to find workmen replacing the gully drain.
They soon had it done and left every thing clean and tidy. I'd still be clearing up if the council hd done it. Just fed Charle time for :cuppa: before taking the Dyson on trip round the floors.

like AstroTurf or something? neighbor just gave up trying to grow real grass? they gonna vacuum it periodically?

Astrotruf is totally different to what is basically plastic effect grass. You can't use artificial grass for all whether sports pitchers.
Artificial grass contrary to popular belief is high maintenance to keep in look good. It's a real hot topic in the trade with a lot of questions now being asked. Artificial grass is an environmental mess. Loss of biodiversity , habits , adding yet more micro plastics to the environment. It currently can't be recycled and needs vast amount of raw materials to make. With a carbon footprint to match. Try laying on in or walking bare foot on really hot days. In Australia it's all over then place and real issue , some states have replaced grass in whole parks with the stuff. Reports of people being burned on hot days. Campaigns are now growing to ban it along with more evidence to it's negative effects. Personally I'd welcome a ban on the sale and use to the public and public spacers. Even worse is a growing trend in sport turf for hybrid pitchers. Sports grade artificial grass with real grass combined. The ECB for example from this session have now allowed it's use in all forms of Frost class domestic cricket.

I've always had drivers or teams that I've followed. But as you say, it's nice to sit back and watch really GOOD racing. It's why I can't wait for the BTCC season to kick off as the whole package tends to be entertaining, no matter what.

Whoops! I was bigly into Group C. Anything that Derek drove - there was a fair bit of crossover between F1 and sportscars in the 1980s - plus the Jaguars of course. Remember the times I used to sneak a small battery-powered radio under the covers so I could listen to Simon Taylor's commentary from Le Mans through the night. It was on Radio 2 in those days...

And he's French, not Belgian ;)
