I think the best to do in such circumstances is not to make a deal of it so as to cause unnecessary worry to mum. Make light of it to her - but keep a watching brief.

My working day is completed just the house and garden jobs to do now
First journey up and back down the A61 with its new 50mph limit this morning. Stuck between two coaches northbound I never saw a sign, southbound I did but no New Lower Speed Limit signs that might be expected.

A warm and sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.
Slept really well - and overslept. Whoops! A quiet morning doing chores, which included furkling around in the freezer to find the prawns I intend having tomorrow for supper. They're currently in the kitchen fridge, slowly defrosting. Also took out the half a loaf of tiger bread that was in there.
Lovely luncheon of seeded toast, rilettes de porc, Cornish Blue cheese, fruit and a
Spent some afternoon grass cutting along the edge of the drain, but I couldn't do as much as I'd have liked as I got too hot. Never mind, I'll finish that tomorrow. Also managed to watch the last three frames of Ronnie O'Sullivan v Si Jiahui.
Now sat with a and some dark chocolate with ginger.
