We've had rain! The best kind of rain too, overnight rain. Now it's mostly blue skies, fluffy white clouds and sunshine. (Not much use when you're at work to be fair but whatever). The rain was certainly needed up in our neck of the woods.

Good morning from a grey, overcast and very slightly damp Suffolk. Coffee has been had as part of a very slow start to the day.
Nothing on the 'to do' list today apart from popping out to pick up some travel snacks for Friday and to drop the birthday card & pressie off for my stepfather.

A spot of rain the night before last and a breeze has removed most of the blossom obscuring my view of the crows' nest on the tree outside. This let me see mama and papa crow standing on opposite sides of the nest looking very engrossed with something out of view in the depths of the nest. Because neither are incubating the eggs it seems possible that there may be very newly hatched chicks below. I'll wait to see whether there's any feeding activity in the near future. I don't think this has started yet.

Meanwhile, a solitary swift has just done a few fly pasts. They were rather late arriving around here.

It was 36c here this afternoon which is the kind of temp that we only see in July/August.

Washing machine has finished it's solar powered duties now the washing is outside on the whirly gig waiting for mother nature to do it's job of drying it

We got a load overnight too, now the river is much higher than yeaterday.
