There's a certain feeling that rain is due overnight so i will not be watering the plants tonight .
We have a very stale Malt loaf

Custard would go well with that.

I had a round plate this morning. It's interesting that there a two regular girls that work in that cafe, one manages to arrange a breakfast so it looks like a work of art. The other, like this morning, looks like she threw some random breakfast items on a plate with a shovel. The taste is the same though so it doesn't really matter.

Some shopping done. I tempted fate by buying a couple of new pairs of shorts for my Mull of Kintyre trip next week as my existing ones are getting a bit tatty. I also bought some sunscreen. I've probably just given the kiss of death to the weather!

I will be going to a vintage rally in the afternoon.

Well Mull? What do you expect for weather?
Take some anti fungal cream.

Stayed dry but got very windy. Noticed the wooden shed is in need of a new piece of felt. Have a big roll of the stuff so a positive check on the adhesive still being okay and then a hunt for the roof tacks. That meant sorting through various pots etc and I ended up with just 4. Did however sort all the washers, nuts and rawlplugs into a storage container compartments. That leaves an old ice cream tub of screws and bolts to sort along with an old tea jar full of oddities.
An evening B&Q trek for some more tacks and the adjacent Aldi for eggs and washing up liquid.
Strava seems to have got itself into a twist reckoning I walked to Ripon and back!

2.4 miles would be more accurate.

Fabby supper of tuna, sweetcorn and onion pasta salad, with a mixed bean, parsley and mint salad on the side, as well as some lettuce and tomatoes and a :cuppa:

In the absence of safety cars/FCYs, I suppose I'd better get off my backside and make a hot chocolate and hope nothing happens while I'm in the kitchen. There's also the problem of finding time to watch the Canadian F1 qualifying.

Remarkably clean running so far. But that brings its issues as well, with cars running at full(ish) pace for that length of time. Eventually, someone will end up with mechanical gremlins.

I've given my MTB/touring bike a complete service in readiness for next week -hubs, chain, cassette and headset. Headset rebuilt with loose bearings. Some wear in the hubs. I'll have to get new cones for the front to do it properly. I've neglected things badly really, but the improvement is noticeable.

A warm, sunny and rather blustery day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well. We did have rain overnight, albeit not that much. I shall probably have to go and water stuff later. Spent the morning doing some kitcheny stuff, mainly food prep for later, as well as straining the fish stock that I left to cool in the fridge overnight.

Lovely luncheon of salt & pepper baguette, hummus, Langres cheese, fruit (satsuma, mango, watermelon) and a :cuppa:

Now watching the Le Mans 24 hours on Quest. That coverage ends in about 10 mins, so I shall decamp downstairs and switch to Radio Le Mans.
I had the full race viewing paid for, and I've just found out it's not available. I need to upgrade to see it. They took my money for it, they'll be returning it tomorrow.
