Now I know *why* I abandoned the sparkly "Hello Kitty" crocs years ago in favour of the pink ones I've been wearing - they're uncomfortable! There's a ridge that's meant to go in the gap between the toes and the sole of one's foot, and I find that it makes me curl my toes. Which my knees *really* don't appreciate. Owww.

Will go and have a look in Sports Direct on Monday, methinks.

Well it's a mistake to confuse Crocs with footwear.
An abiding memory is of a wedding I verged.
The bride's mother, who carried a few kilos, arrived for the wedding service in Crocs.
Her response to remarks from family members was profane and not worthy of a lady.

Ventured by car into town to visit the car show, a compact brolly in the rucksack and it quickly was needed. No watering of outside plants needed.

It's almost like Oldwheels has been reborn!

I was thinking of him whilst trying to book my ticket to Lochranza. I miss his tales of island life.

If Norman McCaig can describe his Aunt Julie as a keeper of threepenny bits on a teapot, we can describe Oldwheels as a complainer about Calmac!

Another guest at the B&B couldn't get it to work properly either this morning. In the meantime, I've spoken to several natives who advised they do take money on board the ferry, despite all the signs ordering you to book online that are on display at their ferry ports.

Interesting day. I followed NCN 78 to Adrisaig and joined the Crinan canal. I went to Crinan along the canal. A lovely ride, but a tough one along the signposted route. Took me much longer than I thought. I also had many stops, for fish and chips in Lochgilphead, and to talk to random people. I met a young (and extremely good looking ) girl riding a Raleigh Twenty. She uses it to make deliveries to people on boats and working along the canal apparently.

I also came across someone sailing a truly amazing 1/24 model of a steam ship. It was an unexpected bonus, and lovely to see.

I saw the Vic 32 Clyde puffer at Crinan harbour and it was in steam.

I also met my MK II Transit driving friend again, and I accepted a lift back to Tarbert with him as it would take me ages to ride back. First time in a MKII Transit in about thirty years. Amazing how much vans have improved. It was loud, bumpy and I banged my head getting into it. 35 mph a realistic speed on that road and every hill demanded gear changes. I'd hate to actually put a load in it

This evening's hot chocolate has just been made. Quite a few spoonfulls of ice cream from the tub were also had during the making as it's still warm & muggy here.
