For the first time in decades, I have got sun burn on my face.

It was fine until two days ago, because I always wear a sun hat and sit in the shade. Sometimes late in the afternoon I might sit out in the gentle sunshine.

On Sunday and yesterday, it was very windy and overcast here. My sunhat would not stay on my head, when I was gardening. I forgot how drying the wind can be, and ended up yesterday with a very pink face. Then I made the mistake of putting some cream on my face, but that just made things worse.

I just hope it calms down a bit more by tomorrow afternoon when I am due back at the hospital, including seeing my consultant. Do you think he will be seeing lots of people with red faces?

Hopefully not so far this time...

I have a permanent contract now, so the family can move here if I find a flat in time.

Beautiful Daughter changes school this year so it's a good moment to change, although if I can't find a flat, it will mean I'll be commuting back and forth on weekends for a few years yet unless we can find a better solution.
Not as bad as I were thinking then.
Given your recent trip over to these parts. I were thinking it'd be a decent commute.

you might try some aloe

A lot of moisturisers contain fruit acids or AHAs which always irritate my skin. I think that is what made it worse yesterday evening, so I had to rinse it all off. Is Aloe different?

The nurse who did my blood test this morning said that "Aveeno" hand cream is too thick for facial skin, and would not help as it would block the pores. After tomorrow, I think I see the consultant again in two weeks or so. I hope it has calmed down by then.

As I said, I have avoided sunburn for decades, what a nincompoop I am.

It's been a grey, warm and blustery day here chez Casa Reynard.

I did not sleep well, and so have had another quiet day, writing and listening to the cricket. I also cooked a large bag of spinach as it was looking a bit tired. It is in the fridge. Tomorrow I will squeeze out as much moisture as I can and freeze it. I also have a bag of pears that are also looking a bit tired, so I will turn those into a pear & ginger cake.

A quiet evening is also planned.

It didn't half get warm and very blustery this afternoon. Shopping was completed successfully and then I went out for a quick local loop as justification for cake!

(Sticky cinnamon bun :hungry: - very sticky)
Since then, nothing's been done except for a quick wash of a load of cycle clothing and to sort out the overnight bag ready for Wednesday.
