A lot of moisturisers contain fruit acids or AHAs which always irritate my skin. I think that is what made it worse yesterday evening, so I had to rinse it all off. Is Aloe different?

The nurse who did my blood test this morning said that "Aveeno" hand cream is too thick for facial skin, and would not help as it would block the pores. After tomorrow, I think I see the consultant again in two weeks or so. I hope it has calmed down by then.

As I said, I have avoided sunburn for decades, what a nincompoop I am.

Aveeno is just short of amazing .

I got 2nd degree burns on my face and need to moisturise. Before it was deemed essential for yet modern man.
Aveeno does the job for me!

It seems that I have got "prickly heat".

As I am seeing an oncologist later today, he may suggest what to apply. It is caused when pores are blocked, so I want to be careful not to worsen the problem. Prickly heat was a problem when I lived in the tropics half a century ago, but not in this country,

One of the side effects of the medication that I am taking is a skin rash. The prickly heat is mostly on my face.

I feel very silly seeing my Oncologist when I have such a red face. I just hope I am not the only one in the waiting room with a red physog, and that the Oncologist understands how unusual this extended hot weather is in this country.

Listening to the radio this morning - am I the only one that couldn't give two hoots about Glastonbury?

Stuff like Glastonbury is the main reason why I rarely listen to the radio, or the wireless as I prefer to think of it. I occasionally listen to the lunchtime news on Radio Scotland. In the days of Ken Bruce I used to listen to Radio 2 but it got far too noisy and frantic.
On the subject of music broadcasting I’ve recently cottoned on to a fab podcast called Folk on Foot, a bit like Claire Balding’s Ramblings but talking about and playing folk. There seems to be hundreds of episodes in the catalogue so this will keep me going for a while.
