Back from the docs and he reckons i have sprained a ligament so back on naproxen and refereed to physio.
Though the report doesn't say that a pilot switched it off, simply that it had been switched off and a conversation between co-pilot and pilot went ''Why did you switch it off?'' and ''I didn't.'' The radio news report didn't identify which one asked and which one replied. The report has to be impartial.
I wonder what would make the switch move on it's own, vibration maybe ? or it not being fully engaged in 'run' and slipping to 'cut off'
The fact that the report didn't recommend action against either Boeing or engine manufacturers, General Electric, seems to rule out any mechanical fault as cause. Otherwise, they'd all be grounded until mandatory checks had been completed.
So it's back to who did what in the cockpit, and the report doesn't say who said what, including who sent the mayday message just before crashing.
There was an advisory issued for the Boeing 737's which had an issue with them .
You would have thought that it would have been a bit more urgent than that?
5 Live had a 737 pilot on this morning who had postponed his takeoff realising the cutoff switches had turned, a faulty locking mechanism. Boeing sent a instruction round to airlines to undertake the fix but it was not mandatory.
That is interesting. It's a shame that it hasn't been published elsewhere.
