The rain and showers finally cleared through here some time after midday - if you exclude the one that hit as I arrived at Lidl. Most places have dried up, but the other end of the close is (yet again ) still flooded right across the road due to continued drainage problems.

The bedding has been changed, washed and put on the clothes horse to dry, the vacuuming has been done and the kitchen floor steam mopped. Also the ebike has been used to get a week's worth of shopping which required the use of both panniers and a backpack due to the bulk rather than weight.

Had a few rumblings of thunder earlier but nothing else.

Meant to have rained all afternoon, nothing. A neighbour did look at me oddly as I proceeded to cut the lawn. It had apparently definately rained very heavily at her work place.
Mower had a bodge of a cable tie holding one side of the handles in place. A huge plastic plug having vanished.

Amazing french fries/chips at the Cross Guns, Avoncliff the other day. Expensive at seven quid but there was enough for two if, unlike me, you have friends. Pub recently reopened after being bought by a local restaurant owner.

I will pass the news on that the pub has reopened.

There has been a fire in a thatched cottage near Lacock. My brother heard all of the fire engines go past. They showed a bit of it on the local news. Nobody was hurt.

just curious, when you get on the track are you with other riders? how long do you ride for? I'm guessing you pay for track time, maybe by the hour?

Not really a very nice day here. Grey, overcast and occasional drizzle all day.

First working day of the week completed. I took one of my work at home days today because I couldn't be bothered going to the office. I can't really be bothered going tomorrow either, but I suppose I better. It is so much more peaceful at home.

Car repaired. I walked over to the motor factors after work and they had coils in stock. Takes minutes to fit and problem resolved and a full complement of three cylinders. I still had an engine management light though. I disconnected the battery for about ten minutes and now the light has gone out too. The joys of owning a simple car.
