It's been a grey, warm and humid day here chez Casa Reynard.

Did not sleep well. Just too tired after yesterday's long haul, and it's one of those things that always messes with my head anyway. Still, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

Had a quiet day working on my novel. Yesterday's trip refreshed my mind as to some aspects I wanted to cover.

Some very tired-looking bread and onions have been turned into a savoury, cheesy, bacony bread & butter pudding. It's currently in the oven. And I am watching the football whilst following the cricket via text on the laptop.

According to the weather app, it is raining. It has gone rather dark outside.

Parcel company has failed to collect a bike I sold today, meaning I've got a long drive tomorrow :cursing:

I'm not sure whether that's better than the previous time I used them, when I had items stolen out of the bike box.

I need a better alternative to Evri Large & Heavy.

Postal delivery of a new credit card this afternoon. Straight out of the envelope and cut into very small pieces as I only applied for it to get £50 off a pair of tyres at the rainforest website.

Two potential routes have been mapped out for Wednesday morning's outing - if I get myself up and about in time that is.
Time for this evening's hot chocolate and a biscuit.

I survived a day in the office. It wasn't too bad today, I suspect it was quiet because the noisy man that sits opposite me wasn't there today. I hope he has taken a very long holiday.

A lot of rain was forecast for today which didn't materialise. With that in mind, I walked to work in a raincoat and was far too hot. Wearing a raincoat seems to be the best way of guaranteeing a dry day!

Cycled twenty miles after work on single speed. I want to get fitter like I used to be. It's occurred to me that although I've clocked up reasonable mileage in the past few years, I've really just been plodding along looking over hedges plus I've put on a lot of weight after my accident. I tried to put a bit of effort into tonight. 13.2 MPH average which will hardly set the world alight.

Speed is only one thing to bother about. You could ride at the same speed and increase the distance, which is what your longer rides have been doing.

A good week for news, dumb man can’t see what the problem might be.

I once watched a gormless bird consume a bottle of white wine during a two way training course.
Really don't think she knew. Maybe didn't care.
It was about 10 in the morning.
We were all doing coffee and off screen donuts.

You're a regular then? 😁

The K&A is probably where I cycle the most. Did the whole thing in three bits a while ago after dropping 4 digits on a XC MTB to do the bumpy half on. Did it west to east, Bristol to Trowbridge, Trowbridge to Hungerford then Hungerford to Reading. Bristol to Bath I did on the rail path as that bit of the canal is no longer with us. Most of the towpath beyond Devizes is unbearable on a bike without boingy bits!
I did that ride after recovering from viral pneumonia. I was a lot younger , lighter and fitter then.

I got hold of the wrong end of the stick!
I was wondering what a bird , feathered variety was doing on a training course and then for it to consume a bottle of wine!
