The Google weather app wants to know if it's raining now. Isn't that the wrong way round?

After pushing myself to do the massive diy job early in the year,so father in law could come and live with us.i have started the top half of the staircase ,the bit that leads to the bedroom and shower room. Now learning from the heavy weight loss and tiredness,i have only painted the ceiling and walls today. It will be the same again tomorrow and Monday and Tuesday, yes four coats, two white emulsion and two of the final colour which is a sort of light magnolia.I would normally push myself and done some undercoating of woodwork. That is not happening this time around.I am going to finish the emulsion first, then painting the woodwork will also take four days.

On-line Teams training for our new system at work, The presenter is painstakingly slow and showing us box by box what to enter - e.g. booking leave has taken over 5 minutes explaining it !

At least they do train you on it. I came back from my two weeks off in June only to discover they had changed the clock in system and I couldn't get clocked in. I had to ask a colleague for help.

Our new system looks very nice and modern compared to the old one, which had a distinctly Win3.1 like appearance. It was very easy to use and understand however. Everyone is complaining about how user-unfriendly the new one is, and it is so difficult to figure out how many hours you've worked.

It's been a cool, grey and very soggy day here chez Casa Reynard. it didn't stop raining till near 4pm.

Did not sleep well thanks to some bunged sinuses bringing on earache and toothache. I have unbunged sinuses (yay for accupressure!) and now I'm just sore.

Made another batch of plum & ginger jam today. And with the weather coming in on Monday, I popped round to the community orchard once the worst of the rain had moved through to see if there were still any plums left. There were, despite a lot having been picked and a lot carpeting the ground. Ergo I helped myself to another bag (a Tesco "medium" tie handle food bag) as I suspect that thanks to the gales, anything left will be shucked from the tree.

Tomorrow, I suspect I will be chutneying.

I noticed there were a lot of Jolly Miller apples (a reasonably early cooking apple) on the ground - went to check the trees, and the fruits just drop into your hand when you touch them. I did pop a few into the pocket of my rain jacket and tried one when I got home. They're sharp, but have a good flavour. Now quite ready, but a little time in a storage tray will see them right. So I shall feed the cat, have my supper and pop out for some of those for the exact same reason I picked those plums. I hate to see fruit on the ground, rotting.

Anyways, I'd better sort out Madam's supper and go have something to eat...
