Sunny afternoon, lawns cut, Alchemilla and Buddleia dead headed. That filled the garden wheelie bin and still stacks of the Buddleia to tackle.
Then an Aldi trek in the shade as far as possible, for apples oranges and salad leaves. On the return made use of a rarely used length of an uphill footpath as their is a link two thirds of the way from a road. The lower part is a narrow path amongst the greenery and hence a shady climb.

After my painting today,i won't mention it anymore.Had dinner washed up.then went for a walk to Aldi and Starbucks,me and Starbucks have now parted company.Prices have reached my limit,goodbye.Anyway that was offset by the wonderul pricing of Harpers Ruby Red Ale 500ml bottle £1-29 each got four,so i am now seeing what you lot have been up to and quaffing a really nice beer.I am drinking it out of my favourite beer mug all the way from BANFF.

I went for the slowest walk ever this afternoon. I almost didn't go anywhere, mostly because I had a head completely filled with clouds, but eventually I figured that a bit of fresh air might clear my head. And a walk through Greenwich Park did the trick with the head but did nothing for my zero-rated energy levels.
I couldn't believe how much stuff people need to carry with them for their picnics in the park these days. Gazebos, tables, chairs, rugs, blankets and assorted peripheribilia. And that's without including the food and drinks.

Dads had that issue but I could not fathom why as all the photos were on the sd card. To make sure I moved them to his laptop and then cleared all app caches but it was still complaining.
Ended up doing a factory reset and reinstalling the apps. Over a quarter empty then.

It's been a warmish and eventually sunny day here chez Casa Reyard.
Best night's sleep of the week so far, though that's not saying much. This morning was spent prepping everything for a batch of plum chutney, so stone & quarter plums, chop up a couple of onions, a large chunk of root ginger, then add all the other spices (mustard seed, star anise, cinnamon) and dried fruit. Did the first stage of the cooking process, which is to cook everything till soft in half of the vinegar.
Tomorrow, the plan is to add the rest of the vinegar and all the sugar, and cook to completion.
A quick luncheon of toast with jam and a
was had, then off to town for some groceries. First stop was the butcher, since having picked some lovely early cooking apples (Red Victoria) in the community orchard, I felt that some bits of pig would go nice with apple sauce. So I bought a tray of their "Isle of Ely" sausages (£6 for a 650g tray), and a half kilo ring of black pudding - which was reduced for clearance - for £1.99. Both the sausages and the black pudding are made on the premises. Really looking forward to tuck in. Will probably freeze half of each.
After, it was off to Tesco. Not much required - milk, butter, a 5kg bag of sugar, a foil baking tray and a new hair clip for the parental. Only picked up one item on YS, which was a slightly tired-looking basil plant. My basil is close to going over (will turn it into pesto), and with the dodgy bits pinched out, this plant should see me through till the autumn now.
The next task was making an apple & blackberry pie, using a new recipe I'd spotted, and that I thought would make a nice gift for the peeps at the vets. So today was a trial run. Pastry really easy to make, but it's *VERY* short, so it's a no go as a gift. It's just too messy to eat with your fingers, it's a full-on plate and cake fork job. So back to the drawing board there...
That aside, the pie was absolutely delicious. Had a slice for dessert this evening, after a nice chicken, bacon, avocado & salad wrap.
The plan is for a quiet evening.

Easy to solve. You can't divide 23 by those quantities, as it's an odd number and you don't want to be sawing goats into pieces.
Neighbour lends the fella one goat.
Then half of 24 is 12
A third of 24 is 8
An eighth of 24 is 3
So 12 + 8 + 3 = 23
And the neighbour gets his goat back.

Snetterton never happened - having watched some of the live stream later in the afternoon it seems I didn't miss much. The 750MC is one of those motorsport clubs that's great for the competitor but not so much for the paying spectator.
Instead I went out for 2.5 hours in quite cool conditions for the time of year for a very enjoyable and fairly fast paced loop well beyond the far side of Ipswich & back on unexpectedly quiet roads. My reward to myself was an evening meal of a large helping of burger & chips accompanied by a first mug of the day sized coffee.
Time to settle back with a couple of bottles of chilled beer and the afternoon's Sky Sports F1 channel recordings.
