Despite the gloomy start, there's been some sunshine and warmth round here, albeit accompanied by a bit of a breeze.

Having been good on the food and drink front this week, I've decided to have a naughty day out on Monday* so used the excuse of having to go out and print out the train ticket and cycle pass for the journey home to redeem my hot drink code and have some time out. A half hour snooze has also been had.

*The away days on Thursday, Friday and Sunday next week don't count as naughty days even though large quantities of food and drink will be taken.

Ugh - limited space to put the ladder so I ended up twice having to trim the hedge directly above me. Looks a lot better now and hopefully might get away until next year now. Then had a workout with track pump on the car tyres. The front nearside and rear offside were rather low in pressure; it was the latter I had noted as looking a bit iffy.

That was fun! Trying to feed the last 2 remaining cables through the frame. Well actually it was some thin brass tubing at first and then some garden wire. I'll have to read up on how to fit the hollow tech BB before I can continue building up my frame.

It's been quite a warm and eventually sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well, though it took me a fair while to drop off. As a result, I treated myself to a rather nice lie in. This morning's tasks included watering and adding more support to the tomato plants, decanting yesterday's haul of apples into crates and going to furkle in the utility room for a packet of biskits.

Afternoon was spent moving the stuff in the garage that I didn't move the other day, and triaging some of it to see what wanted going to to the tip. A large shopping bag and the big holdall were fine - they've been dusted off and added to the bags hanging from the coat rack in there, but the other holdall (used to be my show kit bag) is tip bound, as mice have been nesting in it. And life is too short to try and clean out a bag that's got broken zips anyway.

Got the deck out onto the drive, and have sharpened the blades with the angle grinder. The now fully-serviced deck is now ready to go back onto the mower.

I now have been left with another job to do. The bolt for the garage door is a real ar*e to slide home thanks to the concrete shifting slightly, so I'm going to have to grind out the hole a bit so that it is easier to close. I'm pretty sure I've got an emery type drill bit somewhere. If not, will stop off at Screwfix when I do a tip run.

Had a bid in a Bay of E auction, but didn't win. I like to stick to a budget, and in any case, I can only wear one watch at any one time!

Then went to the community orchard with the parental unit. We picked some more Thoday's Quarrendon (mid-season dessert apple), and I think I have enough of those now. I also picked a basket of Moreley's seedlings. Sadly, the Murfitt's seedlings have all fallen off the tree waaay too early. But I've noticed a lot of fruit affected by the codling moth larvae. so that will have have been part of the reason why. Everything is definitely ripening early this year.

Just had a lovely supper of blueberry pancakes.
