It's been a bright and mostly sunny day here chez Casa Reynard. With a rogue light shower at tea time.
Slept well. Chores undertaken, then spent the morning lumberjilling. Three heaped wheelbarrows of logs have been safely stashed in the garage. Dusted the sawdust from my clothes and took the car over to the garage to have the new tyre ordered before Christmas fitted.
They were pretty busy in there, so the ten minute estimate ended up being nearly an hour. I took myself off for a nice walk around the village. Some really nice seasonal decorations to be seen. Also had a nice chat with the receptionist.
As I didn't get home till three, I skipped luncheon and headed off into town to return the leggings I bought yesterday. No problems there. Incidentally, the lady on customer services had exactly the same issue with the leggings. We both swear they're all the same size, just put in different packaging. Drew a blank in Mountain Warehouse for an almost like-for-like - the website says yes, the too-small store in Ely doesn't hold that particular line. Still, found some roubaix-lined thermal leggings in Peacocks, so bought those instead.
A detour to Littleport on the way home to pick up some more of the "mepore" dressings for my leg from the little independent pharmacy in Parsons Lane. Those, paired with the sterile wound pads that Tesco sell, are currently the most comfortable option.
Tea and toast was had on return. Then I made a big pot of thai-inspired pumpkin and red lentil soup.
Supper was a bowl of soup, a hot lamb sandwich, and a slice of chocolate cheesecake.
I'm now sat by the fire listening to Arsenal v Villa.
