Dragged WAH to 5.
Evri deliveried a couple of storage cases at lunchtime. At 4.48 they emailed to apologise for them being delayed. Maybe not my delivery.

It's been another brrrrrrrrrrright and chilllllllllllllllllllly day here chez Casa Reynard after snow overnight.

Sleep was middling. My back, hips and elbows weren't thanking me for a day spent lumberjilling. House was down to 14C this morning, and have been struggling to get it to 16C. Did all the chores, and cleared the car, first with a broom, and then with the scraper, as the parental had a quack appointment for routine monitoring at 2pm. Got her there, only to find that the appointment had been cancelled due to staff shortages.

That single appointment has now been turned into three separate ones, one of which had to be changed as I am away on that particular day. The others are also at inconvenient times, but the parental didn't want to change those. That's annoying, never mind today's wasted trip in not very nice conditions. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! :banghead:

A late luncheon of toast, pate, goat's cheese with cranberry sauce, a lovely ripe comice pear and a :cuppa: was had.

Then hauled firewood (again) and made a big pot of soup. I decided on not going out to do the errands on my list. They need to be sorted, but are non-urgent, so they can wait till the roads out here are less icy. Speaking of which, while I was out, I spotted a gritter called Stephen Thawking

Fabby supper of cullen skink, then a large sausage roll, home made triple-cooked chips, and the last of the braised red cabbage.

I am definitely having a quiet evening.

The temperature round here didn't make it above zero until gone midday so I've had a mostly indoor faffing around day. An hour and a quarter's walk was had from around 13:00 and bracing is the best way to describe the bits not sheltered from the breeze. Mostly sunny and picturesque with snow still on the fields, but some of the pavements & a back road were slippery having been in the shade all day.

Coffee on getting home followed by a half hour snooze were my rewards to myself for keeping active rather than just wrapping up warm indoors.

I think the evening's hot chocolate will be had soon.

Quite a bit of snow this morning and a very heavy shower during my perambulation.

I made a large pot of vegetable soup after work to keep me going for a few days.

I went for another walk and it is really thawing at the moment. A lot of compacted snow on the pavements, not nicely wetted as it is thawing. If it does freeze before morning, it will be a ice rink.

Crochet hooks? Embroidery thread?

Does Mrs682 use Etsy? If so, does she know how to delete some of the items previously listed on her "wish list"?
