It's been another brrrrrrrrrrright and chilllllllllllllllllllly day here chez Casa Reynard after snow overnight.
Sleep was middling. My back, hips and elbows weren't thanking me for a day spent lumberjilling. House was down to 14C this morning, and have been struggling to get it to 16C. Did all the chores, and cleared the car, first with a broom, and then with the scraper, as the parental had a quack appointment for routine monitoring at 2pm. Got her there, only to find that the appointment had been cancelled due to staff shortages.
That single appointment has now been turned into three separate ones, one of which had to be changed as I am away on that particular day. The others are also at inconvenient times, but the parental didn't want to change those. That's annoying, never mind today's wasted trip in not very nice conditions. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!
A late luncheon of toast, pate, goat's cheese with cranberry sauce, a lovely ripe comice pear and a

was had.
Then hauled firewood (again) and made a big pot of soup. I decided on not going out to do the errands on my list. They need to be sorted, but are non-urgent, so they can wait till the roads out here are less icy. Speaking of which, while I was out, I spotted a gritter called Stephen Thawking
Fabby supper of cullen skink, then a large sausage roll, home made triple-cooked chips, and the last of the braised red cabbage.
I am definitely having a quiet evening.
