I've got my thermals and snow boots out of the loft.
Been in this house for 9 years, the snow boots have not left the loft in that time.

How long should you keep bank statements?
Just found a collection from the late 80s.

Also photographic slides from the 60s. Caves, boats, walking and ice climbing. I must a been fit and foolish.

you didn't stop to pick it up?

No stopping other than broken down would be illegal not forgetting unsafe.

Tonight is the re-start of track league at Derby velodrome. I'm about to get (very) battered!

1000006910.jpg

Race 1 (scratch) - 5th so 4 league points. Mugged with a lap to go.

Race 2 (tempo) - no clue. 4th-8th? Lapped the bunch but others ahead.

Race 3 (points) - 4th? Lapped the bunch and got points but 3 riders ahead.

Race 4 (scratch) - 3rd and dead.

Photo thanks to the organisers:

It's been a grey and less chilly day here chez Casa Reynard, albeit after a *very* cold start.

Slept really well despite waking up to a house at 13C, although the fire was still burning nicely. Snow is starting to retreat, but the house and extension rooves and the drive hadn't defrosted at all. Oddly, the car was clear of any ice. Spent the morning doing all the chores - grate, firewood, scoop the poop, take the kitchen peelings out, all that kind of stuff, and clearing up all the Christmas stuff. That's all ready to go up on the loft. The home made wreath I had on the door has been shoved in the kindling bucket, and the greenery I had around the house has already contributed towards today's heating.

Lovely luncheon of a chunk of Melton Mowbray pork pie, toast with home made chicken liver pate, a pear, a banana and a :cuppa:

I then spent some time mending the damage to my trapper hat. Not quite finished with that, and I'm going to replace the velcro on the chin strap with a button and buttonhole.

After, it was off to Littleport to go and see the nurse at the quack's surgery. Roads weren't too bad, the expected ice at the far end of Black Bank never materialised, but still, I drove as if there would be.

And I had the stitches out! :wahhey:

Still a fair way to go down the healing process though. The surgery's not prepared to sign me off just yet, and I have another appointment next Friday. And I was sent home with a wadge of assorted dressings (including the antimicrobial mesh) and told off for going out and buying my own supplies. Thing is though, there's more people in need than me, and I can afford to buy what I need.

Cat has been fed (Felix AGAIL with chicken & kidney), and soon it will be time to feed me.

Mundane this is.My old Accurist watch is playing up.The day and date won't match up,i must have knocked it somehow. The date is always just behind the day,i have tried to line them up but one jumps ahead,it's doing my ocd head in.

I suspect you've been changing the day / date during "changeover" which is why they don't match.

Namely, you don't change the day / date on a watch between 9pm and about 5am, there or thereabouts.

Pull the crown out all the way, and turn it until you've established where midnight is. You'll be able to see the date flick over. Day might take longer according to what movement is in the watch - for instance, my Seiko watches take several hours for the day to change, but I have others which flick over near enough instantly.

Only *THEN* do you set the time - best to do this late morning, early afternoon. Once you've set the time, then set the day and the date. And everything should be correctly aligned again.

I am feeling extremely exhausted. Jabs and tablets tomorrow at the Oncology Unit.
Then I am going to give myself six days of holidays I think.

The decorations are all in boxes, but I have not got enough packing tape to seal the boxes, that will be purchased on Thursday. Kizzy likes boxes, but I am sure I will notice if I accidentally seal her into a box. The nee ooopp peep pip sounds will be a clue.
